Lecture Halls

The college has 2 thatched classrooms, the large classroom can seat 45 students and the smaller one 35 students. Both the classrooms have overhead projectors and ceiling fan.

The Rufford and Mabunda Iglo lecture halls are both two smaller lecture halls. The building of the Rufford Hall was made possible through funding from the Rufford Maurice Laing Foundation and can seat 30 students. The Mabunda lecture hall was sponsored by Sanparks and can also seat 30 students. Both the lecture halls have air-conditioning.
A new seminar room that can seat 20 students is currently being built and will be completed shortly.

Accommodation
 The college has 52 en suite twin student rooms that all have a study area and bathroom.
There are also 17 en suite tents , which were erected and built by our students again during practical infrastructure training. These tents can all sleep four and are located along the College fenceline, offering magnificent views across the veld and a real bush experience.
Laundry facilities are available in each student block.

 

 

Cafeteria
The cafeteria consists of 2 spacious dining areas with a food service area that can seat 156 students. The kitchens are professionally managed and cater for all our students for 3 meals a day, and often manage functions too, including the College Graduation.

Training
The College is situated within the 16 000ha Kempiana Game Reserve which shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park and Timbivati Game Reserve. The College has a 1500ha core training area where most training is conducted. The College also has an additional 1000ha when required and can get excess to any part of Kempiana for specific training needs.

The College has two game viewer vehicles that seat 10 people each and can conduct game drives over 35km of roads through the park.
Students are taken on guided walks in the core training area for a maximum of 8 participants per walk.

 

 

Workshops
Our infrastructure training workshop have work benches for 30 students and are equipped with all modern tools and machinery to train students in all aspects from carpentry to plumbing and brick laying.

In addition the College has a special welding training workshop that can accommodate 12 students each with his or her own work bench and welding machine.

 

 

Vehicles
As part of the College vehicle fleet we have two Toyota buses that can transport 30 students each for large groups and a 10 seat Toyota Quantum for smaller groups of students. Students and trainers can be fetched from local bus stations and airports in one of two VW Golf Chico vehicles or a Toyota Condor.

Student Recreation
The students have a swimming pool, sand volleyball court, soccer field, netball court, table tennis pool table and a television and music system. A small Gym with weight training equipment and a punching bag are being upgraded in 2010. The 2.4 km fenced perimeter of the college can be used for walking and jogging. There is also a bird hide for birding enthusiasts.

Resource Centre & Computer Lab
The resource centre has a variety of books, reports and journals. Within the library is a lounge area where educational movies are shown during the day. A variety of boardgames, magazines and fiction books are also available. Adjacent to the Resource Centre is the computer lab, 30 computers are available to students and all have internet access.

 

 

Bushpub

The pub is perfect for functions and boasts seating for 60 people complete with firepit and braai facilities .
The Bushpub is a new addition to the College but a very welcome one. Set among overhanging trees, the wooden decking and bar area was built by students during their Infrastructure Training program.
